Any concerns with QD sockets in aluminum quad rails?

Just curious if anyone has had problems using QD sling sockets without steel inserts that are milled directly into aluminum quad rails. Has anyone had out pull out or deform the aluminum?

I figure that the anodization around the socket will probably get worn, but want to make sure there is nothing else to be concerned about.

It seems silly to add a socket onto the rail when there is already an integral one, but I don't want to wreck my rail if this is an issue.

Thanks

KAC uses QD sockets in there lower receiver on the sr-15. Aircraft grade aluminum can be made to be very strong and Hard coat Anodized can resist wear very good. I use Daniel Defense QD rail mount on my carbine. http://www.danieldefense.com/?page=s...l&product_id=4
I have more finish wear on my QD sling swivel than the mount If that can give you an Idea.

I was in the same conundrum as you a while back when my DD Omegas were appropriated and went with DD's QD swivel mount. That lasted for about a few months before I got fed up with the extra bulk on the rails. Needless to say, my current front sling attachment points are the integral QD sockets. So far, so good. Like Thomas said, the QD swivels have more finish wear than the Omegas.
