Rifel Qualificaiton Course

Here is the rifle qualification course I made for our department. Its a bit easy. But this is for cops. LOL.

Rifle qualification course.

Rifle Used in Video Daniel Defense M4 build.


Stage 1. Range 100 yards. (3 rounds) (8 seconds)
Shooter may start in either prone position or leaning across simulated hard cover. Safety must be off. Shooter will be sighted in at the target. At the buzzer the shooter has 8 seconds to fire 3 shots to center mass.

Stage 2. Range 50 yards. (3 rounds ) (8 seconds)

Shooter will start in low ready with the safety on. At the buzzer the shooter will fire 3 rounds to center mass in 8 seconds from a standing position.

Stage 3. Range 25 yards. Run dry reload. (6 rounds) (15 seconds)

Have another shooter or the instructor load the shooters magazine with 0 to 4 rounds and put it in the shooters rifle. Shooter will start in low ready. At the buzzer he will have 15 seconds to shoot 6 rounds center mass. During the string he will be forced to reload when his gun runs out of ammo.

Stage 4. Range 15 yards. (6 rounds) (15 seconds)

Start with the rifle slung or if there is not sling place the rifle in pocket carry with the muzzle up. At the buzzer the shooter will fire 3 rounds standing and drop to kneeling and fire 3 more rounds.

Stage 5. Range 10 yards to 5 yards. Shooting on the move (6 rounds) (5 seconds)

Shooter will start with the weapon in the low ready with the safety on. (safety is on for all the stages) at the buzzer the shooter will shoot 6 rounds while moving towards the 5 yard line in 5 seconds.

Stage 6. Range 5 yards. Failure to Stop drill (3 rounds) (2 seconds)

Shooter will start in the low ready. At the buzzer he will shoot 2 rounds to the body and 1 to the head in 2 seconds. Repeat once.

Here is the target.


A zone is worth 5 points.
B zone is worth 4 points except on stage 6 where it is worth 1 point (head shots)
C zone is worth 4 points.
D zone is worth 1 point.
Over time shots are -5
Extra shots are -5
150 is max 120 is required to pass (80%)

After shooting the AR I shot my MAK 90, Saiga SL20 and my SKS on this qualification.
The SKS was difficult during the reload stage. I got 2 over times.


















After the qualifications I did some reloads on camera. I uploaded the two best.
For the AR my reload dime was 2.05

Fine shooting. You should get 10 points just for the cold.

Thanks it was actually a pretty good day for here. 34 degrees and no rain, snow or wind.
