Burris 4-12x32

I've got a guy who has one of these he is willing to sell me for around $200. seems like a good scope for my needs- target, semi-close range varmint (out to about 250 yds or so-max), and maaaaaybe 3gun(we'll see about that down the road).

Anyway, from what i can tell from the research i can find on it, its an outdated model which i dont necessarily care about, but everything i read about it says its a rimfire scope.

Would it be able to handle the kick from an AR-15?? has anyone used this scope before? pros/cons would be greatly appreciated.

I do not know what Burris your talking about in particular, but I have a Burris #201334 Timberline 3x-9x Ballistic-Plex that I run on my Charles Daly Defense AR. It holds zero just fine.

OpticPlanet.com has it for $179 and MidwayUSA has it for $189.

Do you know the model, maybe if you could discover that someone here may have previous experiance with it and be able to share with you. One thing about the Burris is the Lifetime warranty. If it fogs or anything, call them up.

That is the best image i can find of it online as its a discontinued model. I have an older catalog that has it listed under as part of the Burris Mini Series. it has a Ballastic Plex reticle.

$200 seems high for that scope.

Rated as a airsoft/rimfire .22 scope.... I personally would never give $200 for it. I might go $50 for it, if I had a .22 that needed a scope.

The Timberline I have is very nice, and for less than your pal wants for that used one you can get one like mine with tha Balistic Plex reticule and all, it just does not seem logical to go for that one.

I do fully realize that my Burris Timberline is not a professional LEO/Soldier type of optical aid, but for my playing around on the farm it works really well. It lets me play around at 100 yards with detailed shots to the limit of:

1) My low ability
2) The low ability of my Wolf Ammo
3) My low ability!

The common limiting factor for me is...well.... me! So I do not feel the need to spend $500 on a scope that I will not be any better with any ways! I just suck that bad...LOL! But man, I have fun trying to get better!

(And yes, the rifle is laying on my Chocolate Lab's bed!)

and thats where i get confused. another guy at work wanted it for his 3gun rifle but it was a shade too much magnification for his tastes on close targets. they say its a great scope for my needs, etc, but when i dig up info on it....its says .22/airgun?

i guess im just confused about it. maybe ill call Burris when i get a chance and get some more info on this particular model.

Anyone else know anything about it??????
