I picked up iPhone cases for all the VA Arms employees who own iPhones. I'll be getting a Motorola Droid next month, I'm hoping Magpul will make a case for it.

The Droid has a slideout keyboard, I wouldn't count on it.
Perhaps they'll make something for blackberries and/or the HTC Hero though.

If you knew someone at the Magpul booth chances are you could get one. I got a foliage green one myself.
I doubt they will make anything other than the iPhone case. Magpul is not a case maker. As was told to me, to paraphrase: There are so many iPhones (of employees) at Magpul that we thought it would be a fun little project.
The case is nice. I wish the rubber were a little softer to better absorb impacts when the phone is dropped. Also the ridge that you get when you stick the phone would be a little higher -- just a tad -- to better protect the phone when dropped face down. And that you did not have to permanently punch out the dock connector and headphone jack but that they had a flap or otherwise were somehow attached so they could be put into place when not being used to protect from environmental moisture getting in there (the iPhone, at least the 3GS, has moisture indicators inside the dock and the headphone jack and if you go into an apple store with problems that is the very first thing they check -- a prior stray raindrop could ruin your day even if not the cause of your issue). Since it is easy to pop the end of the phone out, I pop it out to charge and have not punched out the dock area and I never use the headphone anyway.
But the case is pretty nice and works well and is subdued enough to work well and has an excellent price point. And it is different enough that most people you meet will not have the same one. A fun diversionary product for Magpul.
The place to hold the SIM card removing tool inside the case is pure genius! Now I have to go find my tool so I can stick it there so I know where it always is.

Do the covers for the dock connector and such pop in and out? That'd be neat.

No you have to cut them out if you want to dock/charge with the cover on.

While I would like to have one of these cases. I think I'll have to go with the otterbox iPhone case. Very similar to the magpul but with all the features we wish it had included. I'll try to get the link.
Eta link. http://www.otterbox.com/iphone-cases...-3g-3gs-cases/

Problem is that the otterbox is huge. Ok if you belt carry it but too big and sticky for pocket carry.

They need better inside scoring around the vibrate/ring slider on the side.
For $9.95 MSRP it is a nice case. And subdued colors.

Travis said they wanted it water tight. One of my coworkers cut that area out on his since he turns off his ringer a couple of times daily.

Yeah, I am not asking for it to be scored through. If you look at the headphone jack and the dock jack, it is scored outside and inside so if you want to cut it out it is easy. The slider one is only scored outside and partially inside which makes it harder.
I am not sure how water tight the case is though I agree that is a nice goal! The phone is a little loose in the case which makes it easier for water. Plus, obviously the camera and speaker openings.
Very nice for a V1 product though. I will probably not cut out the slider area since even though I do use it a few times a week I can pop it out of the case easily enough.

Anyone know of a nylon manufacturer who makes a ballistic nylon case for the Otter Box case ? The Otter box case is excellent BTW.

Should be interesting to see how they respond to the 4G in June-July timeframe. New camera location, etc.

The Magpul case actually looks better than I expected. Especially for ten bucks!! And I like the sealed ports, since I never use half of mine anyway (like the headphone jack, for instance...I use it as a phone, not an iPod). I can't wait to get mine. Oh, and most of the people I know who have gone to the Otterbox have dumped it within a year. It's big and the screen cover sucks.

Looks cool, way cool and for $10 you can't beat it. I am however partial to the Otter Box Defender, yes it is a bit bulky, but it has gone way beyond in protecting my Iphone. For 10 bucks, I think may just give it a try, a back-up case wouldn't hurt. Thanks for the pics and info.
