Suppressor and JHP?

I'm getting my Quicken Willmaker in soon and setting up a trust for my county. The Chief of Police and Sheriff will not sign off on SBRs or Cans. What I'm wondering is when I SBR my CX4 and get it threaded for a 9mm can will I be able to use it with Speer GDHP or Federal HST ammo in a home defense situation?
