Options for .50AE Beowulf
So, soon, very soon, i will be building my first AR, some time after that, i want to get a .50beowulf upper for it.
From what i know, Alexander Arms are the only cats who make the 50 beowulf, but i wanted to ask yall if there were any after market options for BCG or barrel.
I ASSume, that i can get whatever stripped upper and handguards i want, and just have the .50AE BCG and bbl to throw in.
Im looking for any BCG or bbl in 50AE that can take more of a beating than the Alexander Arms parts.
Thanks in advance.
I didnt know if this should go here or in the technical board, sorry if its misplaced. Thanks again.

Yes, the 50 Beowulf bolt works in a standard 5.56 carrier. I do believe the Alexander Arms is the the only current supplier of these bolts, so you may want to get an extra. Not sure, but the firing pin might be caliber specific also. I will have to check on that.

Well, I see the Beowulf forum is down right now, but if you check here, you should be able to find pretty much any of the info you need. http://www.50beowulf.com/bboard/forum.php

You're welcome. I did an 18inch SPR style AR in 6.5 Grendel. I would love to do a 50 Beowulf some day.

.50 Action Express and .50 Beowulf are two entirely different cartridges....

Good catch. I didn't notice the reference to 50AE. Good to point out that they are completely different. I am not even aware of any ARs ever being built to chamber 50AE. At least not any that have been mentioned in any of the main forums.
