Side sling swivel

I'm trying to locate an older model Colt side sling adapter that fits both gov't and pencil profile barrels. Does anyone know where they can be purchased? I've placed WTB posts and have looked around, but all I can find is some ProMag knockoff junk. Thanks.

Bushmaster.........

Quote:
Steel Side-Sling Adaptor

This adapter - the same as used in the original M203 grenade launcher kit - allows mounting a sling to the side of the barrel for easier ready position carry. Machined from gun steel, it is adaptable to both standard (.625" diam.) and heavy barrels (.750" diam.) by flipping the double concave lock plate when installing.

Part No: 12598617K

Price: $34.95

The actual dedicated .625" pieces are out there, but rarer than hen's teeth. I had one and foolishly let it go on the 6520 it was mounted to when I sold the gun. Buyer had no idea what it was.

I've seen them advertised on Brownells and RockRiver. Don't know if its the same size you're looking for.

G&R Tactical stocks side sling swivel attach points manufactured by Stag/CMT. Grant is extremely knowledgeable and stocks good kit, so I would buy from him if I were you. You can find it here for $30:

WARNING: once you buy from Grant, you'll likely be buying from him again. I'm going to buy a DD upper receiver from him as soon as I return from the states.

Oops... I missed the part where you were looking for a .625" side sling swivel. My apologies!

Funny you would mention G&R and a DD upper as I'm looking to put this on a DD pencil barrel build I purchased from G&R. No denying that Grant knows his stuff, this upper was beautifully assembled and the barrel nut alignment and gas key/gas tube fit is textbook perfect.

As for the link to WEVO, do they assume that people are looking to remove their muzzle device and FSB to install a side sling mount? Seems like a pain to install such an adapter.

I wouldn't guess they assume anything. If SAW is modifying a barrel or building a custom rifle, the FSB is coming off anyway. In any event, if you have the proper tools, its a 3 minute job...

Sorry if I came off as a bit of a jerk above. I appreciate the link as well as any info there is to be had. I lack the tools to do such an install and I still feel that whether it is a 3 minute job or not, it's still more work than necessary to install such a mount.

I know this isn't much help, but in my recent search for side sling swivels, I actually came across a site that still carried the USGI dual barrel swivels. Cannot remember it for the life of me, but if you search long enough, I'm sure you'll find it.

FYI, ProMag's side sling swivel fits both barrels.
