LIGHTWEIGHT RediMag II

Guys,
This is a project that Ashley Burnsed has been working on for some time. During the design phase he's consulted with Larry Vickers, Ken Hackathorn, and others.

The RediMag is THE way to carry an extra magazine on a M-16 type rifle. The only issues with the current RediMags are that they add weight and bulk. Ashley's modification reduces bulk by a minimal amount but weight is reduced by about 30%. If you like the RediMag concept but are put off by the weight, this modification make s the RediMag much more palatable. This Lightweight version of the RediMag trims out all of the excess weight and still fully supports the magazine while also protecting the critical feed lip area. If you're running a RediMag or thinking about running a RediMag, this version is a no-brainer. I'm in the process of replacing all of my RediMags with the lightweight version.

The picture below is an UNASSEMBLED Lightweight RediMag. The finished version will have all the factory buttons and levers installed.
