Weaver and Millet red dot optics

I am new to having an AR, so please forgive me if this question is ridiculous. I am looking at various optics, although I am quite limited in budget. I was wondering if the Weaver red dot http://www.weaveroptics.com/optics/r...dgreendot.aspx or the Millet red dot http://www.millettsights.com/scopes/sp-series-red-dot/ were any good. Has anyone tried them or have any info on how they would hold up? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum and the world of AR's. You'lll find many around here squarely invested in the medium to high end, but finding something that is both useful, reliable and budget conscious is not out of the realm of possibility. I looked up your scope choices and prices on SWFA and assume by them your budget is between $100 and $200.00 While I have not used either the Millet or the Weaver, I might suggest another avenue for you to look at. These seem to be getting rave reviews - especially for the cost and features - many of which I think you're looking for. In my view, the Weaver would require a riser to function properly and the Millet requires rings. The choice you can click on below comes complete and ready to roll...Good luck!

I am thinking about the SPARC for an SBR build I'm working on....
