Glock 19 or 17???????
I am going to purchase one or the other in the next few days and get my carry permit shortly after. I can't decide on which because of the small difference in barrel length. I'm a small guy 5'8" and 145 lbs. I'm wondering if I can get some feedback as to which one would be better suited for my size and purpose.
Thanks in advance for any input
Antonio

For most people, barrel length is less important than butt size (for CCW at least). The slightly smaller grip of the 19 is going to be easier to conceal in most applications. Granted, depending on holster choice and body type you may be able to conceal a 17 as well. Personally I prefer the 19. I think it is the perfect size for a defensive handgun, with a good capacity and long enough barrel for a good sight radius/accuracy.

Go for the 19. Not to further complicate matters but I would suggest taking a look at the G26 as well.

I only own one pistol at the moment, due to college expenses and lack of a quality job. It is the Glock 19.
Since I only can only afford to own one pistol, I chose the Glock 19, as it can be used for concealment, it has the capacity of a combat pistol, and it has a .22lr conversion slide available.
You would be well served with a Glock 19, or with a Glock 17 and 26. Don't sweat this decision too much. 9mm Glocks are considered excellent pistols, and if you don't like it, you can sell it and buy a different pistol later.

Another vote for the 19, especially knowing your height and weight.

I mentioned the 26 due to your size and it being easier to conceal. Check out this comprehensive thread from one of our very own mods http://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=43242. Best of luck!

If I could only own one pistol it would be a Glock 19.

3rd gen G17 is the most reliable pistol Glock makes, however, the G19 3rd gen is the most versatile. If restricted to magazines carrying 10 rounds or less, go with the G26, otherwise I far prefer G19's. When carrying in a good IWB holster, most folks I know can conceal a G19 just as well as a G26, with the added advantages of longer sight radius, 4" barrel, and ability to mount a light...

G19 hands down. It's the most versatile of the sizes. Mine eats everything; I've run at least a dozen different brands of hollow point through it without any issues. If you're thinking of the subcompact I would suggest you go to a range where you can rent both and shoot them. Many people find they shoot one model better than the other.

I stand by my 19... and my 19 stands by me
Get a good holster, a set of trijicon sights, maybe a laser max and you'll have a dandy piece

It's hard to argue with the "just right" size of the Glock 19. That said, when I switched from M&Ps to Glock I chose a 17 Gen 4.
I came to that decision after trying both under concealment using the holsters I normally use. I could find no difference in the concealability of the two, even while twisting and moving around.
Of course that depends largely on how you dress. I am 5' 9"/180, if that matters.

This. my hands fit the 17 and 26 with the pinky extension great, but are cramped on the 19. so i say get a 19 or 26 for concealed carry depending how they feel for you.

Let's move past the "this Glock vs. that Glock" threads.
Do a Google search of the site; these topics have been covered numerous times in excruciating detail.
When in doubt, get a Glock 19.
