Hey, I haven't posted much over there in the past 2 years... I try to avoid it as much as possible, but if I can add a little "purdy please" that might do some good at getting Mark to go forward with an AK mount, I'd even post at glocktalk!
As far as adding "tactical" accessories to an AK, I think it's pretty easy to make an AK
very unwieldy, since they're pretty unwieldy to start with. Depends on what you're using the AK for, I guess. If it's your primary long gun, I'd say add crap to it 'til it does whatever you need it to do - light, VFG, optic, whatever.
For me, I bought one so that I could learn to effectively use the most common rifle on earth, and so I could burn more powder cheaply. I can barely bring myself to think about putting an Aimpoint on an AK, since that sort of defeats the purpose of learning to use an
AK... but I have two of them now, so I can leave one pretty much "stock" and play with the other one.
To each his own... at least it's not like adding a VFG, laser, light, optic etc to a Garand. Now THAT would be silly.
(now watch - somebody will post a pic of a SOPMOD Garand).
