One for Grandma

My Grandfather got me into knives way early in life. He was a knife nut and anything outdoors. He never got to see me make knives. My Grandmother helped get me into painting which led to a sculpting degree. Knives is my outlet for the combined influences above. Grandma is long in the tooth these days and I'm tired of sharpening her low RC old school bandsaw blade knives. So I'm making several knives from D2 for my kitchen and hers. Hope I can fit these in and get her one made. Christmas would be cool but even before would be fine too. Longer ones are 5" blade. Shorter one is 4" blade. 3/32" D2 stock.

Ready for heat treat!!!

I have the edge set without being too thin and I have the flats to a decent 220 grit. All handle holes drilled like I like them. Added glue between scale to scale and weight removal.

Making progress!

I am so envious! A great outlet for creative expression but with a remarkable practical side. What handles do you have planned for these?

Excellent! I'll bet your grandma cries we you give them to her (tears of joy, of course).
