Man oh man! I am a 1911 guy at heart but not in what I call practical purposes. I dont enjoy tracking down a smith to change small parts like milling for sights and loose plunger tubes.

SO

I decided to go with a complete at home serviceable platform. The Glock.

Its been about 2 years since I have been all Glock daily and I have noticed at times the factory Glock surface can be slippy and I dont enjoy the overly thick from front strap to rear hump. Just doesnt need to be that front to back wide for me. Also my finger digs into the trigger guard. Also, I have really started to favor the non finger grooves on mt 2nd Generation G19.

I have been bugging Ben at Boresight Solutions over a year before I sent him my main carry set. HE was patient and encouraging to take my time to decide.

What I had done was the basic reduction on the G26.
And
The Extreme Reduction, Finger Grooves Removal on my G19.

Both packages come with the finger guard radius raised and smoothed.

First
The G26 is surprisingly my favorite of the 2 simply because it really gives that small frame every bit of control as my G19 now. Not 1 ounce of slippage and points very well for me!! Its a tad more rough on my skin when IWB carry but I'll toughen up and the basic reduction gives my hand alot more stable and secure grip from the start. No more draw and then set the grip

The G19 is also very much more pleasant for me. I can close my eyes and draw gun....point.....and sights are where they need to be.

Now the big question is do I send more to Ben? And What? And When?
Okay thats 3 questions but who is counting???

Very nice pair of Glocks there. I flipped flopped like a Washington politician between buying a couple Glocks to send to Boresight or to go M&P. I went with Smiths but your photos are making me think I should do both! He is definitely one of the best out there for Glock work.

+1 on the GAP plates as well.

I have two Glocks done by Ben and have done other business with him as well. For those that are fans I believe there will be an article before the end of the year in Combat Handguns. Ben does good work, and is a hell of a guy to boot. Good product, good service, and great communication with his customers.

I've got three M&P's waiting to head his way once he starts taking work again. That will only make him busier. Damn.

I'm super stoked for him though because he definitely deserves the recognition.

Recogonition could not be going to a nicer guy. He is one of only three guys that I would ever trust to reduce and stipple a glock and I dare say possibly even the best out of those three. His attention to detail and concentration on customer service are great. Here is a G17C that has been worked over by him.

He deserves all the recognition in the world. Never in my life have I met someone so GREAT at what they do who's also so humble at the same time.

And he's got the BEST CS in the business IMO.

OP congrats on getting your pistols back, the ONLY problem with having him work on a gun for you is after a short time you want to send them all to him.

Ben's a great guy. I've been in several classes with him and from what I've seen, his work is impeccable. I was lucky to get two of my M&Ps to him back in May, before the current crunch took hold. I'm hoping to get mine back before the end of the month, which will be 4 months.

Me and you both brother. I sent him a G17 at the beginning of April. Originally told probably the end of June, then late August. I guess I'll get it when I get it.

I have a G19 that Ben reduced/stippled. I love it. I was turned on to his work by a buddy that has a whole bag of GLOCKs Ben's worked on.

We shot together yesterday and I was able to shoot his G17 Ben cut down to accept G19 mags and his G30SF with an extreme reduction. Both are works of art. It made me want to have a G17 chopped down. I still haven't ruled it out. In fact, I would prob trade my G19 Ben did for me for a chopped G17 if given the chance. That thing was sweet.

4 months or so. The timeframe is an estimated time I believe. That's what my knife time frames are. I'm part time so I really guestimate. It's well worth the wait. Just be patient

Yes, my turnaround times are estimates, and they are made based on how many guns I have in for work when a customer inquires about the work, as well as how many I think I will be receiving in the near future.

While I do my best to stay on top of my workload, things don't always go the way I plan. I will acknowledge that this year I got so busy that I blew a lot of time estimates. Honestly, I was unprepared for how quickly my business took off once I opened my own shop. That's why earlier this year I stopped taking work for several months, because it wasn't fair to the guys who already had guns with me if I kept accepting work when I already had a considerable workload. I'm always trying to figure out ways to get more organized and streamline the process (without compromising the quality of the work), so if anyone with business/custom work/organizing experience has suggestions (aside from hiring an apprentice), I'm all ears.

It was once suggested to me that I should quote a one year turnaround time, so that when I delivered sooner, customers would be impressed.

Anyway, I really appreciate the patience everyone has shown when I wasn't able to deliver within the estimated timeframe. I feel very fortunate to be so busy, and to have such great clientele.

Does anyone happen to know the current approx. turnaround time?

Taking a class in January and would love to get my 19 worked on before then but if its still 4 months it might be cutting it too close.

Not sure he's taking new work right now. I haven't heard if that's changed recently or not. Have several guns that need work so I hope it has.

I got myself on the waitlist back in June (#102). At the time, he was working on #1 or #2. I emailed him for an update a week or so ago and he told me that he is currently on #13. Looks like I'll be waiting a while lol.
