ACRs available with 1:7 twist yet?
I've been looking at gunbroker ads, and the G&R site, and I'm seeing that they say 1:7 twist available, but it looks like they are all just cutting and pasting the same info from the Bushmaster website.
Can you really get an ACR with 1:7 twist now?

Ive not seen any yet that arent 1-9, and as far as I know no date for release has been confirmed yet.

They are in the works, but you may not need it. Everything I shot up to and including 77g out of the ACR has worked fine. I don't see a burning need for the 1:7.

GunBlast tested the ACR with 77 and 75 grain bullets, and got decent groups. Similar or better than my 1 in 7 twist AR barrel.
I put down a deposit on a basic black ACR, mostly because I was afraid of facing post-election buying frenzy pricing, or worse yet, "pre-ban" pricing. Limbaugh is quite optimistic, but I'm hedging my bets.

1:9, or any twist, will work better with longer bullets at higher altitude or warmer temps than it will at sea level or in winter. So if someone got it to work with 77 or 75, see if they were in Colorado or Texas or some place warm.

The amusing thing about Remington, Magpul and Bushmaster releasing a 1:9 carbine is how many people ,who would never have advocated for 1:9 by another company, will suddenly make an about face and say "You don't really need 1/7".
That is until you put a 1:9 AR15 in front of them and they call it out of spec, cheap and unworthy of self defense.
Just funny how that works.
