Just love the lever guns

This has all that I love and not one thing I don't.

The optic and sling are on the way.

We cut this gun down from a 24inch gun to 16.5 inch.
Silver soldered the sights on and did the internal work.

After we did the work we used CERA-KOTE in a custom color.
I hand rubbed the stocks for 4hr with oil to get it to the level of satiation.

What do you think about my 50 states rifle?

Yep, that looks terrific. Perfect go anywhere gun. Is that a 45-70? The 4 hours you put into the furniture really payed off, the deep finish is perfect.

Nice! I love lever guns. Below is my personal deer killer. BLR Lightning in .308. It now has a 2-7x power scope and a black leather sling added.

That would look great with a 1-4 power scope...hell it looks great now.

I often regret getting rid of my 336cs...

I really wish PA didn't have silly rules for carrying rifles in vehicles. If I could keep the magazine loaded up, I'd keep a lever gun in my trunk. Unassuming, reliable, available in extremely formidable loads... Unfortunately, the closest to "ready" I can keep a rifle in my vehicle in PA is a loaded removable magazine in a separate compartment of the rifle case.

And if I did that, I'd probably have to get one of these beautiful guns you're always posting pictures of. That thing is beautiful! The grain in the stock is amazing. The only change I'd make for a 'trunk' gun is to throw an Aimpoint H-1 on it.
