Knights SR-15 compatibility.

Hello,

First, I wanted to thank everyone who commented on my earlier posts about the SR-15. I learned a lot and I am very thankfull to all who gave me there opinions about the SR-15.

Second, I ended up buying an SR-15 and love it. I want to have a spare parts kits for it and wanted to know what typical AR parts are compatible and which are not. Also what parts are an absolute must.

Thanks again.

Blackcpull.

Here is a long thread on the KAC SR15 E3 with bascially everything you want to know about the SR15 (grips, charging handles, etc). Somewhere in the middle are several posts describing the different parts kits available through Lawmen's and some others. I know there was one small parts kit for replacing parts on the bolt carrier group and there was another parts kit for a whole extra bolt carrier group.

Enjoy your new rifle....I'm getting an SR15E3 too!

Have you shot it yet?

The lust develops after you shoot it.

Obsession? Or how about "love like your hearts never been broken!"

Refer back to your original thread. It became a very comprehensive discussion on the SR15 E3 with topics ranging from replacement parts, weight, grip mods & accuracy. We really covered almost anything you can think of in that original thread.

RE: replacement parts - they are available, but you may never need them. If you really wanted to cover your bases, you could by the bolt rebuild kit which includes everything but the bolt body and buy the stripped bolt. I haven't bought one yet, primarily because the bolt seems to be exponentially stronger than a standard AR bolt. However, a rebuild kit would be handy in case an extractor broke or you needed to PM the springs & rings, etc.

eta: I have yet to see a single report of a broken E3 bolt, ever. KAC has also stated that they will warranty replace any E3 bolt that breaks before the 20,000 round mark. (AFAIK, documentation of round counts is required)
