I painted my 700
It's far from done. I'm going to put other shades of brown on the stock and scope and paint the bipod, lenses caps and mags. And get a different color Eagle pouch.
That's Norrells Moly on the can, barrel, action, scope rings and bolt. And Krylon on the stock and scope.

Not to take away from the point of this thread but, you said you had "Precision Weapons at Quantico"do the work on your 700. Are you referring to the USMC Quantico? I tried a search with no luck. I kept getting the USMC web links

Yes it was the 2112s at Quantico PWS. I bought it from member (Looey) he knows some guys at PWS. (Looey worked for HRP at Weapons Training Batt. at the time).

Yes, it was 24" barrel and I had John Noveske cut it to 20" and threaded it to 5/8x24.

IIRC it was $150 plus return shipping. Give me a call, we have a guy locally that can do it in Fredericksburg.

Nice job. How does the Norrells Moly and Krylon stand up to cleaning solvents? I've got a 700 too and I'm thining of painting it. My concern is that any spilled or running cleaning solvents might erode the new paint. Thanks.

Norrells holds up just fine Krylon will come off with Gunscrubber. I hardest chemical I use on this gun is Sweets 7.62 once a year and I'm very careful.
