Which Bobro Mount for Trijicon TR24?

I am leaning towards Bobro for a mount for my TR24. I see from the SWFA website they come in three flavors - Standard, Slightly Forward and Extended.

Which one would be best for eye relief on a TR24? I shoot nose to charging handle.

You might want to check out the new ADM Recon-H mount that mounts the glass higher than the other Recons, Larue's, and Bobro's.

This is very advantageous when running a more heads up type optic like a tr21 or tr24. Its the perfect mount for a tr21 or tr24 imo.

Bobro makes a very nice mount as well, just not one that is as tailor made for your particular optic as the Recon H. I would run the extended most version for which ever mount you decided to go with for your optic.

Larue also makes a similar mount to the recon H....

Thanks for the suggestion, although I think I'd like to give a Bobro a go this time. Kinda used to shooting at the "standard" height above bore. The scope is currently residing in an ADM Recon, but I want to use this mount on another rifle. Found eye relief on the recon was just about perfect for me with the mount at the front of the receiver and the scope as far forward as possible in the mount, but not sure which Bobro cantilever length directly compares.

Any of the Bobros will work. When I was T&Eing a TR24 I used the non-extended standard Bobro because it allowed me to use a Charles Drissel cat-tail.

Where did the 1.93 height come from?

Allowed the optic to see over a PEQ2.

Thanks Robb - yep, I think I will go towards the shorter mount; I also saw a picture of the cat trail clearance issue you describe over on Enos forum.

Well after a bit of deliberation, I decided to go with the extended mount, for the flexibility and ability to change to scopes with longer eye relief down the line if needs be. Very much like the small rail footprint on the Bobro, means you can move it quite a bit on the receiver to get it positioned just right.

My cats tail is currently a $2 fishing rod coaster....no clearance issues with that

If anyone is interested, Amazon are currently running a very good deal on the Trijicon branded 30mm extended Bobro mount - $190 shipped:

http://www.amazon.com/Accupoint-Exte.../dp/B0037W9NRE

- about the best deal I've seen.

I've got the Trijicon Bobro mount on mine and I love it. It works out perfect for me. My gun was dropped from 4ft, and landed on the top turret 2 days before my first match this past weekend. The setup held zero, and performed better than flawlessly.

Thanks for the pic - looks great. Mine should be here today sometime. I can see from the pic that I run my TR24 almost an inch further forward than you, but the pic really shows the amount of flexibility of mounting with the Bobro.

I have the Extended Bobro and the Standard. In hind sight I would have purchased both as standards. I picked up one of the cat tails and realy like it on my Nightforce compact, but it does not work with the extended mount

Trijicon branded Bobro's.........

like this

I used to run them farther forward, but now keep it back. I fits me better on back

Got mine all mounted up today - just can't describe how impressed I am with this mount - the locking mechanism is just awesome; light years ahead of the competition IMHO.

Big thumbs up for Mr Bobro!

And here's my funky high dollar(!) Cats tail....no clearance issues with this bad boy

Although to be fair, as you can see I did have to take a dremel to the plastic ring to thin it out a bit, even on this one (but at $2, I don't feel at all bad, hehe). I think the cats tail clearance issue is probably (hopefully) something Andrew could easily address in future.

Really nice setup. Is this from the Amazon deal you posted about?

I think I'm going to order one today for a Vortex PST 1-4 (that might actually ship in the next few weeks). The PST looks to need a lot of eye relief as well (and I also shoot ~ NTCH).

Yeah - I've had Accupoint Extended (Bobro), 30 mm in my cart for a few days at $166.17. Just pulled the trigger on one and should see it next week.

Overstock or close-out...makes me no difference. Thanks for the heads up.

ETA: I may have bought the last one at that price - it's now showing $255.
