Yup, FAMAS G1's.

Those things are getting a little long in the tooth. The G1 uses a proprietary 25rd. magazine.

The newer G2's use STANAG magazines, and don't have a trigger guard.

Delayed recoil operated, not gas operated.

Speaking of long in the tooth, the French are still carrying that pre-WWII pistol.

I'm not impressed with a lot of their gear, but I fairly lust after a VBL of my very own. Armored amphibious dune buggy anyone?

Something like an H&K roller locking system or something totally different?

Not roller locked, but lever locked, kind of but not quite a Luger or Maxim toggle.

It's French, what can I say...

Pretty sure it's a Kiraly lever delayed blowback system. Similar to some Thompsons that used this mechanism also.
