New Matech Sights coming out

Let me start of by saying this is my first post here. Some of you know may know me from the Hide and barfcom. I am currently in the Army and was in Iraq during OIF 3. I spent the majority of time as a Ammo specialist and Armorer.

I know this is my first post here, but ive been reading these forums for about a year now. I really appreciate the non-nonsense attitude and the overall professtional experience from the people in the industry and on the front lines.

Anyway, I just wanted to post some info about New Matech products and their distribution. I stoped by the Matech factory yesterday to inquire about buying a set of their BUIS. The receptionist called about 5 different people before someone came out to talk to me.

As I was asking about the BUIS, one of the employees told me about a new Front folding sight that will attach to a picatinny rail using a QD device. He said they are close to being complete and will hit the market soon. They also said that Ranger Joes ( he showed me a not yet in distribution catolog ) would be the exclusive distibutor for their civilian sales ( Colt currently distibutes them for Matech).

I also talked to him about some of the weaknesses that i felt were in the BUIS in current production. I told him that through my experince as a armorer we had numerous bolt and clam failures. I did point out that the units i had were made 2 years ago and since then they may have rectified th problem. One of the sales people did say that they are made using CNC and some parts are MIM. Most people know that MIM parts can be made well and made cheap/poorly.

As pointed out above, my objective was to purchase a BUIS from them. Before I left one of the gentleman handed me a New BUIS and thanked me for my service.

I am no way affiliated with matech, just a user and fan of their products. I hope that this is not percieved as a rumor as we know how the members deal with bad intel.(sorry for the spelling)

I use their USGI BUIS, I like it. Good to know they're expanding to the commercial market.

The only bad thing is, they retail for $149.99. Thats kinda expensive for a rear BUIS w/o QD
