Just placed the order for my 1st AR (Completed)

I would like to thank all of you for helping me research and develop my thoughts on what I wanted in my Training Course, 3 gun, Multi-purpose rifle.

BCM Blem Lower
BCM BFH 16" Light Weight Mid-length Upper
BCM Bolt Carrier Group
BCM GUNFIGHTER w/ Med Latch
13 Inch VTAC TRX Extreme Battle Rail (The plan is to use my x300 in front of the front sight.)
Battle Comp 1.0
Daniel Defense Rail-Mount Fixed Front Sight
Troy Folding Rear Battle Sight
Magpul CTR
Magpul MIAD Grip
Magpul PMAGs
VCAS Padded Sling

I attempted to put together a light rifle that will allow me to learn the platform and would allow me change my mind, add optics etc in the future. I would like to think I got it right the 1st time, but I doubt it.

Thanks again!

I thought I would share a photo of the finished rifle...

Wise selections! I'm putting together something very similar, but with DD instead of BCM.

Please post pics when your setup is complete!

Very good selection of parts and good on you for going irons only first.
Oh and trust me you'll change/add onto it!

Great components and setup. The only thing you'll need in the future is an Aimpoint sight. Its great to see a new guy that gets it. Good job.

I will echo everyone's comments. Very nice build list, especially for a first rifle.

I have the exact same rifle with the vltor A5 receiver extension and standard vltor A5 buffer. It honestly feels like shooting a .22 rifle. The only future modification I see is an optic, the rest is good.

Looks great! I'm thinking about a smiliar setup with Troy Extreme rails instead. How much does the rifle weigh empty without the sling and light? And how's the balance?

Based on my digital bathroom scale it is right about 6.5-6.6lbs (no light and no sling).

As for balance, the balance point with the light and empty is just behind the front edge of the magwell, or right at the front edge of the ejection port cover.
