black rifle memories

These damn rifles have affected our lives in many ways, to be sure.

I post this pic here, because i know a lot of guys here will understand. It is a old polaroid of me receiving my "rifle expert" badge from the Battalion CO in U.S.M.C. boot camp in 1979.

I was 17 years old, and platoon high shooter.
This is one of the proudest, and defining moments of my life. (i'm the handshaker)

My nephew just joined the Marines. I think it is going to do him some good. He needs the discipline and direction.
