I'd say most don't know how much, but gas prices are definitely going to reach record numbers and this time this won't be temporary but permanent. If this country doesn't start drilling for oil here soon in conjunction with increasing our efficiency in the use of fossil fuels, we are going to be in big trouble. We also need to develop and manufacture new nuclear power plants and technologies along with any other reasonable alternative energy technologies.

His son pretty much said Suck It! tonight on the world news. I don't see them folding....... and he is blaming the riots and disruptions on Muslim Extremists ............ hrmmm

Well, supposedly It's being worked on...I live in S.E, Ohio and the big thing now is shale oil. Supposedly, there are huge deposits in my area as well as most of W.V. Mineral rights are being sold now, Along with this, refinerys will have to be specially for this, There is a steel mill in Youngstown that is being converted over to prouduce well casing. If what I'm told is right, We're looking at a 30yr oil boom, I could'nt agree with you more on building Nukes, Trouble is, nobody wants them in their own backyard, pointing to the failure of 3 mile island...But we DO need them, sooner or later they're going be built, I'm working at a coal fired power plant (I'm a pipefitter) and it has been fit with the latest in scrubber technlogly, and it's much more maintance intensive, (something is always breaking) One of the by-products of all this is gypsum..at one time they sent barge loads of it down the river to a drywall plant, to be made into drywall..That operation had to be shut down as the drywall made from the gypsum from the power plant gives off a odor after it's been hung. To my knowlege the gypsum is now being hauled off and dumped somewhere..So much for "clean coal".
