Yet another stupid question. Rail related this time.
I switched out a rail tonight on one of my Noveske Rifles to an Omega Rail. this is not the first time I have installed one of these and it isn't exactly a complicated process. However As you can see in this photo I have having trouble with the alignment of the rail and upper. The rail is level however it is above the Rail on the upper receiver by about 1/16 or an inch.
This may well be an acceptable discrepancy and if so then just tell me but I have never seen one this bad before. Anyway, any advice on how to get this to line up?

If you tighten the set screws while pushing back on the delta ring it should allow the rail to drop down a bit and line up.

My omega x does the same thing with my Vltor upper. I had to play with the screws a lot and finally got it close, but not perfect.

Correct, I have installed Omaga Rails before. As well as some others. I thought about it overnight and called DD today. (at this rate they are gonna blacklist me) They said it is normal for some misallignment, which I know. Their suggestion was to try a different DElta ring if I had any. They also suggested the same as some of you had, to loosen it up and try ti work it into place. However there is no moving it into place. This is as low as it will go.
Honestly I am not to worried about it. It is an astetic problem not a functional one. So worst case scenario it stays the way it is and I am fine with that.

Set screws can offset, I ended up cutting d-ring off and
attaching to barrel nut. Much better fit for me YMMV

can you loosen the appropriate screws and use a rail mount across the gap to hold the alinement while you re-tighten the screws?

If I'm seeing the picture right, you could file a flat spot on the delta ring to allow the bottom of the rail to clear, and thus perhaps settle things down some w/o having to try and actually jack it down with the screws.
It's worked in the past for me when one of the tapered rings like that has been in the way of whatever.

Pretty sure it is not the Delta Ring causing the problem. I am going to try a different barrel Nut and see if that works. If not then I will live with it.

Just thought I would give everyone an update to this. I did some measuring and the upper was about 1/10th of an inch shorter than any other upper I owned. I called Noveske and they asked me to send the complete upper, rail and all into them. Less than a week later I had the upper back with a new receiver that lines up perfectly.
Without a question Noveske is the best AR manufacturer in the market right now. Yes there was a problem (one that did not cause functional issue) but they fixed it in an obscenely short period of time and threw in some swag to make up for the "trouble"
