dumb question? Buffer springs for midlength?

I searched for buffer springs using the orange button to ad nauseum, but couldn't get an exact answer to what I'm sure is a dumb question. Actually, I belive I have the answer, but I just wanted to be 100% sure.

When choosing a replacement buffer spring for a midlength carbine, it does not use any special spring, but rather just uses a standard carbine spring... correct? Replacement should be done when the spring measures less than 10 1/4" over all?

found plenty of info on springs, but wanted to be 100% sure that midlength was the same as per carbine regarding springs.

ALSO - deos anyone have a good source for COLT made springs?

Thanks in advance~

Same spring as carbine.

Brownells and specialized armament warehouse both carry colt parts. G&R has the spring but it is sold as a package with an H buffer.

ALSO - deos anyone have a good source for COLT made springs? Brownells carries them. However, I recommend getting a blue Springco spring.

Thanks in advance~

Mistwolf,

http://www.sprinco.com/tactical.html

I used one based on the advice of Robb Jensen when I set up my first SBR. I had just over 5K rounds through that spring with virtually no change in spring length. I have heard reports of Springco springs with many more rounds than that through them. In any event I like them and when I set up the SBR with the Vltor A5, I put another Springco spring in it.
