So, when can CCW holders be allowed to carry in schools?

Apparently the teen Jihadist wanted to plan a school shooting similar to Columbine. Same young martyr wannabe connected with Jihad Jane.

http://www.philly.com/philly/news/br..._shooting.html

So this begs the plea rather than the question: when can CCW holders get to carry on school grounds? More specifically for college students that are of age, and parents with permits when they go to little Johnny's school for anything. The Virgina Tech student, Seung-Hui Cho, who shot up his school, didn't give a damn about the safe school's act and laws, and apparently didn't care about his fellow classmates lives as he was focused on his fantasy world.

Right now, as I see it, American schools are easy targets for terrorist acts, and the best ones to use to hammer their agenda through the American media. Most campuses do not have limited and controlled entry points, with vast campuses and buildings that could cost man hours and money to do TSA style screenings.

The safe schools act has never worked. In fact, it has made schools far more unsafe and a place where people are told that they cannot defend themselves and that it is the government's job to do it. Can anyone tell me what the local LE's active shooter response to their school is these days?

Every time I hear a school has gone on "lock down" I have to laugh because they might as well say locked rooms full of victims who can't escape.

The idea that that students in those rooms are safe and secure is a joke.

I don't know about teachers, but in Utah, you can go in a school with CCW (must be a Utah CCW permit [but holder does not need to be Utah resident] and not one recognized from somewhere else)

Here you can pick up and drop off kids. Can't go to a school sporting event, though. Basically if you're just coming and going its ok. If you park and attend an event or go in a building its a no go.

Texas.

my college is CCW friendly.. makes me feel better.... somehow the place isn't a drunken drug infused orgy of gun fire either, despite what the antis would have you think.

I like to think we're making slow and steady progress in the direction of a society which is discreetly very well armed in all areas. obviously the coasts will be the last to the party.

What gets me is that my school used to have two course for firearms: rifle marksmanship, and pistol. They said that funds killed the program, and it probably was the case here in TN. The university I attend is pretty conservative compared to the other high end lib schools...which makes it center left.

One of my professors who teaches history of science and culture (great class) said that politicians need to listen to more "experts" about things. His example; politicians should listen to the chiefs of police about why guns are bad in the universities. I held my tongue to tell him that most chiefs are hired by politicians because they fit their mold as yes men and women, and that the current argument is for teachers and professors to be armed, not some of us who are ex-LEOs or ex-military.

Come on Gov.

CCW: Stops Mass Shooting on Contact.

Son's school has windows floor to ceiling. Don't think the lock down in going to work well. Good news is I have a home office and by Google maps I'm 450 yards away.

Concealed means concealed.

I am more concerned about LE thinking I am the shooter than I am some stupid rule/law.

Judged by 12 and carried by 6 and all that...
