Is there any concern for the twist rate? what is the upper limit to stabilize common bullets in .308 with a 1/12?
I am still getting one but I hope the 1/12 is not going to be an issue.
I am sure Colt tested the common ammunition choices and found it accurate but like another posted, it seems 1/10 is the most common twist.
Website still says 1 in 12

Really curious to see them out and see a standard 556 upper slapped on to the lower. The following makes it look like the 556 uppers are proprietary with a much lower forward take down pin hole (despite the fact that the text specifically says it was made to accept legacy M4/M16 uppers). Wonder if the mag block pins onto a standard upper and has another hole allowing the lower to pin on to the mag block. Perhaps the 556 representations below were just photoshopped versions of the 7.62 upper image.
556 uppers below do not appear to have an unusually low front take down pin hole.

Won't you have to swap buffers for this to function correctly? I've been wondering how this would work.
From what I have read the buffer spring setup is optimized to allow for 5.56 shooting, while the 308 has the gas system tuned appropriately to function within the same relative energy range. I have a check as soon as Grant tells me mine is in the shop. I am dying to find out also.
There is a adapter that bridges the distance gap for the front pin, and accommodates the smaller magazine. I have seen only one picture of it and Colt has wisely kept pictures and its details on the web to a minimum while the patent was pending.
Any more news with these Grant?
