Please help me make a choice for an AAC muzzle device!

I am about to finish up my second 5.56 build. Mega Billet Lower, Mega Monolithic Upper Mid, Noveske Afghan barrel w/Switchblock.

After it is finished I am going to get my first tax stamp for a suppressor, so this is new territory for me. I have narrowed it down to an AAC can but I am not sure what muzzle device I want to go with and I need to know for sure since I will be welding/pinning the muzzle device.

Correct me if I am wrong in my thinking.

It’s my understanding that the M.I.T.E.R mount allows you to have 5 positions to help POI shift. To me this seems like the best choice for 5.56 only suppressor.

AAC Muzzle Break - Out because it won't give me 16.1 OAL.

AAC 51T Compensator or AAC 51T Blackout - Although I might not have the accuracy of the M.I.T.E.R mount I will be able to get a can for a .308 round. I currently don't have a set up for this but one day I might want to set up a .308 rifle for this. Is there any other reason besides this to go with a Comp or Blackout over the M.I.T.E.R mount? Also if not the Miter what would you choose between the comp and Blackout.

So the options are…

AAC M.I.T.E.R mount
or
AAC 51T Blackout
or
AAC 51T Compensator

I tried to keep it short, although I was unsuccessful. Thanks for your advice in advanced!!

I can't believe I'm saying this....but wait for SHOT (Damn It!)

AAC is widely rumored to be releasing a new mount for their suppressors and since you will be permanently attaching it to your rifle it is at least in your best interest to wait a week and see what they have to offer before doing something that takes a whole lot of work to replace.

But be advised, you will probably have to wait until spring time to even place your order for the mount and the suppressor.

If thats not ok with you, I run AAC Blackouts on all but one of my rifles, which has a brake because the brakeout is LOUD. The brake is only ran on my dedicated suppressed 10.3" upper. The M4-2000 is an excellent suppressor.

If you get the MITER mount you are pretty set on buying the M4/SPR, which is an excellent can. I have one.

If you pick the 51T style mounts you can get the Mini4, M4-2000, or 762-SDN-6 (or hey, all three). So you should really decide what it is you want first.

You should also wait for SHOT. I hear there will be some new cans out there to choose from, including AAC.

Yea, I had no idea they would be releasing something. I should have though. lol I am really glad I decided to make this post. I have been building this rifle for a long time getting parts here and there when I get the funds. I don't care to wait at all. I would just like to have someone before summer. I am not planning on getting a can until summer anyway. I guess I will just through a cheap flash hider on there to run until summer and put my pistol buffer tube on there.

I tell ya, I found out about this forum from Joel. I really like it so far compared to the other forum I am on....I won't say which one.
