Very nice!
I thought I was completed after my first ar, now I now have three ar's and I'm still adding or changing within the three!
Thinking about that special fourth one too!

Have fun

Chuck

What lower did you use? What did you mean by ripped casings and do you have any pictures of the cases?

If you use even a little lube you shouldn't be having problems.

cmmg 223-556...
think round fired, cases had, where the extractor holds, been sheered...
dropped a cleaning rod down and they popped out fairly easily.

How did you arrive at the conclusion of your selection? Specifically the YHM gas block sight.

I wanted a base to start with carbine, but without the normal stock and hand guard. It will change as my needs/preferences develop. As for the yanhee hill front sight, I liked the hk style front as I feel it gives me a more comfortable sight picture. If the yankee hill becomes problematic, I can swap it out with another more robust sight/gas block. This is an ever evolving process as what works for me is still being ironed out and tested. After a few more houndred rounds, we'll see what I need/want to change to make the gun more reliable. Good think I have this site and you lads for a knowledgebase...

I think IG was referring to why you didn't keep the "F" marked FSB and chose the YHM sight.

Ahh! I didn't go with the "F" marked FSB because I like the idea of folding the sight down. I plan on swooping up a H1. If it doesn't pan out, I can always switch to a "F" mark FSB, or low-pro gas block and cover it with a ff rail some other flip up front sight.

DD makes a 1/9. Bravo has them on sale. I know there was some issue about the gas port being too small, but well see if that is an issue.

YHM flip front sight fail
DPMS LPK fail
CMT BCG fail

For the same price, you could have a better quality carbine.

CMT doesn't MPI all their bolts. You can specifically buy CMT MPI BCGs, but not all of them are.

I think a PSA LPK is better.. of course an RRA 2 Stage or Stag (normal) LPK would be less gritty than a DPMS LPK.

Nice rifle OP.. I like the YHM Flip.. but the price is abit up for me. IMHO.

I am not too worried about the lpk or yhm fip sight yet. After 1K rounds, I will reassess the parts. I want to wait because I might go w/ a ff handguard in the near future. I want to see for myself as this is a "learning" rifle. I gladdly accept input. Thanks!
