Carry handle sight question
I purchased a used AR carry handle sight, to cut down for a fixed BUIS to my H1. It arrived pretty damn used & worn. I don't care how it looks, except for one issue. The separate block that actually holds the sight has some play in it. It is 'turned' a bit on the central axis and is under light spring pressure in a counter-clockwise direction. (That make sense?)

Is this a common/normal problem? Is the sight effed, can it be trusted, would it still be consistent?



If I apply pressure pushing the front portion to the right (clockwise), then it trues up a bit:

Thanks guys, good to know.

I'm not a nut about 'fit', but on a sight it's kind of irritating/distracting me. I might try a sliver of folded aluminum foil at the front of the base, once sighted in. If it was easy to disassemble I'd build up the edge of the right side with epoxy and file down...

Does the fit tighten up as you raise the RSB?

You can also drill another hole on the other side and install a ball bearing and spring.

As others have said, it is normal. Notice that the sight leaf is at the center of rotation. Because of this, the slight rotation of the sight won't change the side to side positioning of the aperture to any noticeable degree.

You can shim or build up with epoxy, but it won't have any effect on your accuracy.
