TQ mounting Trouble

I've got a CAT- Tourniquet that I've been trying to mount on my brokos belt. I've done the rubber bands but feel it flops around alot and i just dont trust it.

Currently i have it secured with a shock cord loop which is rugged- but when trying to remove it quickly (in testing) it will snag. It is secured like in this way http://jerkingthetrigger.com/blog//2...tion-doohicky/ tried both with and without a cordlock but still gets hung up 50% of the time.

At least the rubber bands will snap if i he-man it.

I've looked at both the BFG TQ- NOW! and the Mayflower TQ holder and they look nice but does anyone know if the TQ slides out easily? No matter how i place my CAT (windlass catch ontop, bottom, inside outside) whatever it will snag on that or on the bottom triglide. Im worried ill have the same issue with the elastic TQNOW or the shock corded Mayflower model.

Ive also seen a marz tactical sheath (looks like a beefy maglight holster) that seems like it is snag proof.

Any thoughts? tips? ext?

TQS Tourniquet Pouch

I use the Tier One Quality Solutions tourniquet pouch (designed by S&S Precision).

See about half-way down page: http://www.kyledefoor.com/2010/05/s-s-precision.html

They come in either belt mount or molle (either would work on the Brokos).

CTOMS has a TQ pouch that will hold the new SOFTT wide or CAT, plus it's made in USA. I'll probably be buying one in the next few days and I'll give you some feedback when I get it and play with it for a while if you want.

I saw something about running 8" of shock cord through two rows of MOLLE and using a cord keeper with a knot tied on only one end. It hold it tight and quickly release when pulled. I'll try to find a link.

I use the BFG TQN on my PC and it works just fine. May require and extra tug but it holds it securely with no movement.

Ive tried various shock cord solutions, 215 Gear's TK holster (Duraflex Elasto-lok) and traditional, closed-top pistol mag pouches. S&S's stuff is interesting as always, but until I pick one up and evaluate it myself, Id say do yourself a favor and go with the simple, rugged and proven effective pistol mag-style pouch.

I put the shock cord under the windlass stick on the TQ, and with at least my Gen II CATs I could yank hard and they'd come along. Not the most secure retention it felt like, but I also had access to crates of the things at the time, and was carrying three at any given moment.

I use the shock cord/cord lock thing. Haven't had any come loose and they come out easily with gloves on. It's cheap, light weight (huge plus) and low foot print.
