Extractor spring o-ring question

Hey Larry, what is your opinion on o-rings for the extractor spring?

The reason I ask is because I had some extraction issues with my DDM4. I contacted DD and they fixed the problem by adding an o-ring to the extractor spring. I recently came across some information on this site that said an o-ring is not an appropriate fix for this problem and that the spring should be able to operate on its own without the o-ring.

Anyway, since you're a qualified expert, I thought I'd ask for your opinion about o-rings for the extractor spring.

Thanks! I am also looking forward to the Tac TV website!

Do you know if they also replaced the extractor? Did you send the gun back? If so they probably replaced the extractor and just added the O ring for insurance - try shooting the gun without the O ring and see what happens

TacTV website - cross your fingers - should be live soon

Thanx and be safe

Yes I sent the gun back and here is the repair description word for word.

"Polished Chamber & Feed Ramps. Added 'O' Ring. Passed function test."

I do not believe the extractor or springs were replaced.

Try running the gun without it and see how things shake out

Thanks Larry.

For future reference, what should be done if the gun begins to malfunction again?

Put the O ring back in - I just checked and the BCM extractor upgrade kit includes an O ring - that tells me everything I need to know; Paul B of BCM has a superb reputation of going the extra mile for the customer and making sure things are right- if he wasn't comfortable with the O ring in a gun he would not put it in the kit

Be safe
