CSAT rear sight aperture

I was looking at the CSAT rear sight aperture today, and had a question regarding what ranges the large aperture is used for. I know the cutout at the top of the sight is for 7 yards. The small peep sight is for 100 yards. So does one use the large aperture for distances between 7-100 yards?

You can use either the small or large.. I prefer the small.
