Recent negative comments on HK 416s?

What are your thoughts on some of the recent negative comments about the 416? I was shocked when I read them because all I have read about for years is what an amazing rifle the Hk416 is. It seems that recently this perception is changing, at least among some. There is speculation and discussion on the link below from other knowledgeable people, but I wanted to know what you thought about some of the recent comments considering your role in the creation of the rifle.

No gun is perfect and because of the love - hate relationship many people have with HK, and yet others within the industry who have a vested interest to bring down the 416 this whole thing is about as clear as mud - I still say what I have said for years; for most people a DI gun is just fine - however there is a time and place for a piston AR;
Short barrels, full auto, different ammo, suppressed use for instance

With that being the case the HK 416 is still the King of piston guns - no doubt about that - and if I were going into harms way it would still be the first piston gun I chose IF a piston AR was needed

Be safe
