SIG556xi - Another Variation

It looks like SIG is altering the design again of their 550 variant.

Stumbled across this on a YouTube marketing video. Do not watch unless you want to be angry or amused http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8q2SV...e_gdata_player

Their website now posts the info

http://www.sigsauer.com/CatalogProdu.../sig556xi.aspx

I can tell the mag release is different and are now boasting quick change barrel and the ability to swap the charging handle to either side. Even the rail looks a slimmer profile but they have shortened the gas system on the 16 inch version. I see no sling attachment points. Those sights are too high. It is close to 8 pounds.

I must confess, I always wanted a real SIG rifle and have never felt more ripped off by a company. I bought SIG 556 when they first came out and hold a grudge for the money I lost. In my opinion they are greedy bastards who put out a poor product using marketing that we in the USA eat up. Their poor copy of the original Swiss handguards even now cost $86 ....

I will buy this rifle when the Swiss Army adopts it! Fool me once...

As a side note they are also marketing this

Conceptually I think it is a great idea. In actual form I cannot imagine Sig Exeter will do anything but release yet another turd dressed with Chinese accessories, that has fit issues, QC issues, etc..

Won't someone toss Cohen out and bring in a team of true shooters who actually care about producing quality products.

That new rifle looks merely like a glorified piston AR...

I wanted a real Swiss rifle, so I bought a K-31.

You guys do what you want, this is the SIG rifle I'm waiting on.

SIG US FNC A1 556 Semi Auto Rifle

I hear they are even going to do a Limited Edition HEAT model.

Al Pacheapo, teh Heat for Cheap. Considering FNC prices, I was thinking about getting a DR200, cutting & pinning at 14.5, then putting an ace stock and FNC handguards on it.
