As some may remember from my thread last week, I made the switch from my tried and true for 8 years Glock 19 to a pair of new M&P 9's that I got from Grant. One is to be my carry gun and the other is to be my dedicated HD gun with AAC Evo 9 silencer.

I fired a total of 200 rnds of 115gr S&B and 34 rnds of 147gr Gold Dot HP. I only put 3 mags through the suppressor host (2 with suppressor and 1with the non-threaded barrel swapped in). The suppressor host gun was flawless while I experience a failure to lock on last round with every mag of S&B through the carry gun (the first mag consisting of GDHP's did lock the slide.)

First target of the day, 7 yards, 17 rounds GDHP offhand:

I'll be honest, I was pretty disappointed in the first group, but it got a little better. Here's the next group of 10 rds @ 7 yds with the S&B:

Then, I put a 17rd mag of GDHP through the other pistol with the silencer. I was very happy with the lack of POI shift and the size of the group (the two flier-looking rounds you see at the bottom actually belong to the group for the dot below. I stacked up a few 2" orange dots for POA):

I then tried the carry gun off-hand @ 25yds, the results were dismal. High and left. I always tended hight and left with my Glock at distance as well. I must have a form flaw:

In an effort to elimnate myself as the variable, I benched the carry pistol and fired another 10 rounds @ 25 with not much better results:

All in all, I'm not unhappy with the results. I'm most excited about the silencer host and how well the can shoots on this gun. My Glock never shot nearly as well with the can on it. The triggers in both pistols are fine with me. I enjoy the grips and the sights. I feel I need to practice some more at distance before I make a final accuracy judgement. I plan to go to an indoor range with some rental guns so I can put the M&P up against something else to determine the accuracy differential, if any.

I'll leave you with a few pics of my ugly mug shooting the pistol and my buddy (karmapolice's) MK18:

It looks like its you, especially if you had the same problems with the glock(an entirely different platform). My only advice would be to dry fire the shit out of it, put a shell on the gun and dont let it fall when the trigger breaks.

Re-read up on sight picture and revisit practicing perfect sight picture. Blury target-crisp sight and all that. I find myself having to go back to the basics every once in a while, I'll get so into whatever(currently target transitions) that the fundamentals start slipping, and you gotta get that shit straightened out.

Also, I dont know you, and you probably have your reasons, but make sure you know all the pros, and especially the cons of a silenced pistol for HD.

Anyway, badass set of leadthrowers! Good luck and keep us posted.

Edit, your second picture is about 2" at 7yds which would be 6" at 21. Not great, but not horrible for offhand either. how are your eyes? Maybe the distance is playing a mental game on you. I found myself using different and poor form at 25 than at 10yds, and realized that was why my groups were opening up more than geometry said they should. Dont worry about your sights moving around, just focus on sight picture and keep the movement somewhat controled. But dry fire the shit out of both those guns before you spend money on live ammo. Be safe and have fun!

Hope this helps.
