i am looking to get an off set mrd on my serious use rig and came across this. i was originally going to just go with a trijicon rmr but i cant beat the price point with jp. i can have the whole jp mini red dot as well as a mounting system for less than the trijicon alone. has any one used one of thees before? how is the general durability and battery life? those are the two areas where i think the trijicon would shine but like i said....price point.

also, can anyone testify to their mounts?

JP markets the old UK made Firepoint system. Don't get Gunscrubber on the lens or it will melt as it is polycarbonate.

okay after more research....clearly the trijicon is something that the jp red dot will never be. but how about the mounts? they look really well made but i never see any one using them and info and testimonial to the mounts is not easily found

No one has ever used a jp scope mount? Really?

I've had nothing but good luck with JP mounts. The 5(!!!) cross bolts probably make it the most secure mount ever.

That being said, I currently rely on the Warne RAMP mount.

I have a JP mount on my competition rig, no problems whatsoever.

If I remember correctly, Jerry Miculek uses an offset J-Point in that mount on his 3-gun rifle. That speaks well for the quality at least for match use.

good to hear. i need to mount the heavy 34mm premier heritage on top of a hard hitting m14 and needed to know if the jp mount was up to task at hand.
