shooting 223 supersonic is the 308 can quieter than a 223 can ?

Probably not since you are letting more oxygen into the baffles from the larger bore.

Correct me if I'm wrong...

It will depend on the can.

Usually, .308 cans are larger than 5.56 cans, so the larger bore size will be offset by the larger internal volume.

If the .308 can is the same size as the 5.56 can, then the 5.56 can will be quieter than the .308.

to my ears, it sounds about the same.

main advantage- you only have to buy one can

main disadvantage(S) - most 762 cans are longer and heavier than 5.56 cans

We use the AAC 762-SDN-6 cans on our 5.56 carbines. Sounds the same as our AAC and Surefire 5.56 cans.

I've been on the waiting list for 3 weeks for this can. Hope it's worth it...

I think the AAC 762SDN-6 is rated something like 4db louder than the M42K. Shooting them back to back I didnt notice anything but a different tone.

I use my 7.62 SDN on my ar, you can't tell much difference.

I was lucky, I got to play with a friends and learn for myself. The versatility of the can is what was the deal maker.

How far off is the zero with the 7.62 can on the 5.56 rifle?

Only way to find out is try it- they're all different. Mine only shifts about 1 " at 100 yds on a couple ARs, one doesn't shift at all, and haven't really tested it on the other 2. I'm sure the fact it's a 30 cal can instead of 556 can makes no difference at all other than maybe weight.

From what I understand there won't be much of a difference, which is great since i'm getting ready to order a 762sdn6 for my LMT MWS, it will also spend some time on my LMT MRP 5.56, and 300blk when the short barrels come out for the MRP.

Thanks. I'm new to the world of suppression and only read about the POI/POA shift. I only figured since a bigger can might cause an increased shift. OTOH, the bigger hole for a smaller projo might not shift at all.

Thanks for you words.

I should add that mine is a YHM Titanium and the weight difference is like half the weight of the YHM stainless. The QD feature makes it much easier to swap weapons with adapters, and all the wear/tear on the threads will be on replaceable parts-not your barrel threads. 1 high-dollar suppressor for all my ARs=SWEET.
