thees are not my pics but my situation is similar. i need to mount a red dot to a vltor casv-14 m14 rail system as a back up short range sighting system to the massive and obstructive premier heritage 34mm scope that is 0on top of my rail. my concern id the vltor casv rail is not the same shape as our ar15 platform rail systems it is a bit wider and has a bit more meat in between the side rails and top rails. im worried about a metal on metal collision when trying to mount a 1o'clock off set mount or using something like a 45 degree from the top rail. the amount of hours i have spent researching this is downright embarrassing.....and still no answers. so i am asking you guys. if you have alot of off set red dot experience please help and pictures are very welcome so that maybe i can get some ideas. i was originally going to use a scope ring red dot sight mount but wanted it closer to the bore hence all the 45 degree pic rail adapters and 1o'clock off set mounts. mounts i have considered......dd 1o'clock, trijicon rmr 45 degree, burkett, ext ext.....

help me effectively off set any red dot on here please.... what do you use? what has worked for you? what do you like? what do you hate?

Strongly concidered that. I'm worried about the obstuction of my massive premier scope. I do think I can make it around it by either mounting on side or top.....so I have 2 chances to get it right. But........I'm left handed. I will need to reverse the aimpoint in the mount....and even if that is infact possible, I will need to have access the the aimpoint controls. I'm not sure if it will be possible......I realy hope it is because that was one of my favorit options.

the LT-724 will definitely fit on the vltor M14 rail. however, as you mentioned, you'll have access issues with the knob, and also the right-side windage adjustments, if you mount it to the left of the scope. you'd have to place it in front of the scope to access it easily.

If TNVC still has the tube mounted MRDS mounts, that might be an option. It'll sit really hit up, and you can set it more off to the side, but I don't see a really ideal solution.

Buy the offset of your choice...and stick it out beyond your scope. It will work fine for what you're asking it to do.

I find that to be not true at all....rolling into the secondary at 45degrees doesn't require one to break cheek weld, and only requires a little wrist movement to bring it up. It's fast as hell.

I'm a proud lefty by the way, you don't need to run the secondary on the other side.

Some one on anouther forum I spoke to was complaing about his turrets being too much of an obstuction using the larue off set mount. The turrets of my premier heritage are massive. Do you think I will be able to find a clear place to mount this aimpoint even when navigating through massive scope turrets? Putting on the side rail will put it a different location than when mounted on the top rail right? I have 2 chances to make it work?
