Looking for suggestions for CCW holster for G26. Currently using a 442 in a Mica pocket holster from a convenience perspective, but rethinking the wisdom of that after reading some threads here. Seems the G26 may be too large for pocket carry, but maybe I just haven't discovered the right holster.

If I have to go to IWB I figure I might as well stick with the G19/17 or M&P and dress around it and forget the 26, but maybe I'm missing something.

Thoughts?

So are you only considering a pocket holster to accommodate the G26 or are you willing to consider a G26 holster that can be utilized in either a IWB or OWB configuration?

If the latter, I can't speak highly enough about my Raven Phantom, which comfortably carries my G26 daily either OWB or IWB, depending on my attire.

The G26 is my EDC in the Comp Tac Mtac IWB-really like it, the shell also fits my G19. For me the G26 is to fat for pocket carry.

For me: Bladetech Nano, hands down. It's very comfortable over long periods, stable enough, and very thin yet durable. I tried the Crossbread, which is really similar to a Comp-Tac MTAC, for a number of pistols including my G26. I found that style, the hybrid kydex with big leather backing, to be pretty uncomfortable in many situations such as sitting in the car. I after tryinga few different holsters I chose a Blade-Tech Nano for my main carry gun, a Glock 19, and when I carry the 26 I just use the same holster. I keep meaning to get a Nano for the 26 but haven't gotten around to it.

I have an extrememly minimal amount of grappling with a gun/weapons retention training and the trainer suggested that kydex can be broken in such an encounter. He recommended Kramer's horse hide products. I wish somebody would make an exact copy of the nano in horsehide, that would be my perfect carry holster.

My experience with the Crossbreed is exactly the opposite of mkmckinley. I think it is comfy even in my little race car with big bolstered seats. They give you a thirty day test drive as well.

That said, a G26 could be easily carried and concealed under only a T-shirt in one of a number of good quality kydex holsters like the Nano. I use a PSS. The kydex is very stout and would be difficult to break.

Choosing a holster is like choosing underwear, you've got to get the one that's right for you. If you can, try a few. If not, pick a good manufacturer and let it ride.

For IWB I like either the MTAC or the CTAC.

OWB I go with Raven Phantoms.

Pocket I go with an LCP!

I carry a Bianchi Professional 100 10A for my 26, and its on me 24/7. It was affordable and a cop buddy recommended it from what he carries (a 27). Nice iwb and low profile. It works. Oh and you will never ever break the metal clip. It can cause some damage to nice chairs though. Bomber clip that holds its tension forever. Mine has been on me for about a year and a half every single day.

I wouldn't call it a copy, but the Milt Sparks Summer Special is the ORIGINAL. Most modern IWBs whether plastic or holster, all copied the Summer Special.

This is a Sparks Summer Special II for a Glock 19.

+1 for the MTAC. I love mine for both the 26 and 19.

I have an MTAC with the "slide" shell so I can carry any of the 9mm or 40 family Glocks.

For pocket carry with the 26 I really like the aholster pocket holster. It's thin kydex, and has some retention so the pistol doesn't squirt out of your pocket if you sit in a low chair.

I suggest this - it's been good for me thus far. I could carry my G19 if I decided to as well.

I agree with the poster who is using the VG2. When it hits the market again, I would pick one up if I were you.

This.

The Raven VG2 is amazing. Costs less than half the price of the Raven ACR, and is twice as comfortable.

I like Aker products, especially their Flatsider. I have one for my Sig P220 and another one for my Glock 26, which is my primary off-duty carry.

I carry a Glock 26 Gen4 as part of my EDC. The two holsters I use for IWB are:

(1) Crossbreed SuperTuck Deluxe (http://www.crossbreedholsters.com/SuperTuckDeluxe/tabid/90/List/0/ProductID/1/CategoryID/1/Level/1/Default.aspx?SortField=ProductName,ProductName). I love the leather platform. It makes the firearm "blend" in with your body very well. And it is very confortable as well. This is my favorite IWB holster. I carry this at the 2 o'clock position.

(2) Vanguard 2 (VG2) made by Raven Concealment Systems (http://www.ravenconcealment.com). At this exact moment, the VG2 is not for sale. I purchased it because I was a fan on their Facebook page. They had a promotion going. As you see in the picture posted a few comments before me, the VG2 only covers the trigger and tigger guard. I personally carry this at the 1 o'clock position IWB.

As for OWB, I LOVE my Raven Phantom Modular Holsters. The holster sits very close to your body therefore it give it a very concealable look.
