M&P Striker Fitting

I've got an early 2006 M&P (9mm) with the original striker design, which has not given me any issues to date. I ordered the latest revision striker to put in the gun, but it will not slide into the striker channel. Looks like the striker leg is a hair too wide for the channel. Anyone else have this issue, or is it likely I've got something out-of-spec?

Just to make sure, did you push the firing pin plunger down to make the striker go all the way in? Otherwise, I haven't seen that problem

Upon further inspection, it appears the new striker is beefier and longer by about 1/8". I assume it is a .45 striker assembly perhaps.

I'm pretty sure you have buy a complete striker assembly. Like this one:

I had an original one that I replaced with the new silver one, no problems here. I would call the store where you purchased it.
