Ok guys I am looking for some real time experience with either LED module. I have read several reviews on the TX-4 and a only a handfull on the MD10 as I believe it just came out late last year. I currently have an M500A on my department M4 and wanted to convert to LED. I do not~correction, Will not give up my M500A. I like what it has to offer just not the bulb itself. Any pics on either module in use (Room Clearing, Range, Night time vehicle assault) would be great. I will be ordering either one this week assuming it's back in stock (Malkoff). Also finish on the TX-4 bezel. How close is it to the M500A, same color? Are they durable, I have read several reviews from when they first came out but nothing since then, how has the TX-4 held up for those who bought them a while ago?

From a practical standpoint, the Malkoff has an overall lower output from a XP-G LED and the TNVC uses a brighter/more efficient MC-E LED. Also, the tower configuration of the Malkoff does not lend itself well to cooling the LED, hence the likely choice of the lower output.

The TNVC should be around twice as bright and given the similar bezels they would likely have similar beams as well. So for overall LED efficiency, LED runtime, and brightness I would likely pick the TNVC. I do love Malkoff and own many of their products, but would only choose the MD10 if runtime was my primary concern.

Here is another super bright option, but with even lower runtime. There are also other makers of LED drop ins on this site.

I used to own two M900's, an M3, and a M952 and considered all my LED upgrade options but in the end just sold them all off and moved on to newer lights with enhanced features.

But if you love your M900 then go for it!

Thanks. The bezel looks a bit big but I'll look into it.

That big one looks like it may have much less than an hour runtime with 3x123 batteries however...

Here are other drop ins on that site, although out of stock:

An in stock head but with non-tactical 3 mode switching (every quick power on/off switches brightness)

Has nobody bought a TNVC TX-4 that actually uses it. All the posts are from 09-10. There has to be some good up to date reviews with some good abuse done to this LED Upgrade.

I'd definitely recommend the TX-4. I was ready to ditch the M500 from my duty rifle when I read a review of the TX-4 on another forum. It significantly increases the quality and quantity of light. Finish is close enough to the M500. I've had a few hundred rounds down range since mounting the TX-4, but nothing that could count as significant use and abuse.

Unfortunately, I don't have the ability to post photographs right now, but it causes discomfort in my eyes when deployed against an off-white wall.

Any chance you could post or send pics over e-mail of both setups on within a room, hallway, etc. My main concern is that of the hotspot when clearing a room being to bright. Bright is good but too much of a good thing can be bad. Thanks.

~Edit~
Sorry forgot you could not post pics. Any chance you could still e-mail. Thanks

Black Wrench, could you private message your email address? The one I pulled from the response you sent didn't work.

Dennis,
Will this work with a Surefire M961? What is the run time with a three cell using 123a's?
