View Full Version : receiver CNC code
does anyone know if the CNC g-code to mill AR receivers (upper and/or lower) is available anywhere?
on a related note, has anyone actually used the AR15 CAD files on arfcom? if I was to run those through a conversion program to create g-code, would I be happy with the output, or would I need to spend 40 hrs tweaking it?
thanks,
LWRC-Jesse

I would never rely on someone else's g-code as there is way to many varibles to take into consideration such as fixturing, holds, off-sets, zero's, feeds and speeds. Just to name a few. Then you have to contend with having the correct translator to convert the NC-code to match your machines controllers language (Funuc, Haas, etc). You will be better off spending the time on MasterCam, Gibbs, or Surface Cam writing/programming your own. If you need good solid models , let me know.
