Aimpoint 3X Magnifier Question

I asked if I needed to cut off part of the rubber armor on my Aimpoint 3X magnifier to insert it in the LaRue Pivot Mount.

Whilst typing the question for the thread, Mark LaRue emailed the answer in response to this question to him. After I emailed him, I thought it would be quicker to get an answer here.

Yes, the 3X needs to be circumsized before installation.

Use a fresh razorblade to carefully cut all the way around the shroud and the it slides right off. Don't worry about going too deep, just make an incision, 'till you reach metal-resistance and rotate the optic like a lathe.

Thanks. Didn't have a razor blade so I used my trusty Strider PT instead.:D
