Happy Friday !!!
So my friend, and I just got done building AR's together and we finished up yesterday so we headed to the range . So my friend being the ex-infantry guy says I'm going to break in my barrel by shooting 2k rounds through it with out cleaning, and of course I think he is nuts but he will not be swayed .
We get to the range and first thing he does is a 30 round mag dump in like 3 seconds :confused: then proceeds to sight in his optic . So to make a long story short he ended up putting about 500 rounds through it yesterday , and got it so hot the barrel turned purple .Has anyone heard of doing a break in this way ? I just shot 50 rounds then cleaned then shot 50 more .
BTW My gun has a 16" green mountain barrel , and he has a 16 " lother walther barrel .
Please help what else can or should I do >??
