I'm looking for a new top that runs well under a plate carrier and/or medium ruck.

I've pretty much narrowed my search down to the G3 Combat top by Crye Precision and the Chimera shirt by Arc'teryx.

Does anyone here have experience with both? Which do you prefer and why?

FYI:
-My AO is tropical/temperate. Temps range from high 80s to low 100s and humidity is generally high.
-Color options aren't a huge deal, but I like that the Crye can be had in multicam
-I know the Chimera uses synthetic fabrics in the construction and while I'm not crazy about synthetics, I'm keeping an open mind... I'm likely not going to be running into IEDs at the range or on the trail.

preference between the two depends on intended use - one will be better than the other depending on what you want them for.
if you want the ability to insert elbow pads and FR, then the crye shirt's the one.
however, for your particular usage, i'd go with the chimera, as it was initially designed as a jungle shirt for a hot, wet environment. the chimera will dry quicker than the crye.

I have tried both and I will have to echo what MM said.
