I was reading a thread a while back, which I can't find after hours of pouring over threads and using search, but one of the posters was saying something about an !@#$-type (can't remember what !@#$ was) of suppressor for a 16" barrel that would not add as much length as a front-end mount. Can anyone help me out here? Thanks.

The Surefire Mini, Micro and AAC Mini4 are probably the smallest and lightest cans available. Google will be your ultimate friend.

IG,
Is there a class of suppressors that essentially "overlap" back over the barrel and only add a couple to few inches to the length? I think this is what I was looking for. I was trying to find out if they were any benefit over an end mount. GIYFing right now though:D

Ops Inc overlap over the barrel...called a "reflex" design.

I personally think that the mounting system with the Ops may be one of the best on the market. Surefire and the AAC 90T system seems to be right behind.

The Ops M4S only adds 1 inch to the end of the muzzle device... Ops Inc M4S (http://www.adcofirearms.com/itemdetails_.cfm?inventorynumber=3823)

ADCO carries the full line of Ops Suppressors....http://www.adcofirearms.com/acc/productLine_.cfm?brand=OPS%20INC&product_category=Silencers

IronMan8,

Thank you, "reflex" was the !@#$ I was looking for. Appreciate the reply.

Not a problem man. I've got a M4S at my local gun shop waiting for the ATF to allow me to play with it...everything I hear is that it's really nice for its size, especially when it's thrown on the end of something like a 16"

ETA: Just wanted to add, don't expect this to be anywhere near the level of suppression of full size cans. It's a niche suppressor that fills its particular role pretty nicely from what I hear.

The Ops M4S is a nifty little can and the price is hard to beat. Like Ironman8 said, do not expect the suppression level to be near the level of a full size can. It wasn't designed for that. It actually does a great job at taming the blast level of an SBR.

Here is a pic of my LMT 10.5" MRP with and without the M4S. In the first pic there is a small adapter between the end of the barrel and the start of the brake. This was needed on my rifle so there was enough room for the can to sit back over the barrel properly. The can is short, light weight and balances out the rifle really well.

I have the M4S as well. I use it on a 14.5 LMT MRP barrel. Only adds an inch and takes off the cuncussion when shooting indoors.

how much does the M4S weigh?
