I keep coming back to wanting one... I'd like to shoot and handle one more extensively, either to get it off my mind or to convince me to buy one...

you might have better luck finding someone by posting on Colorado Gun Market (http://www.cologunmarket.com) or Colorado AR-15 (http://www.ar-15.co/forums/index.php)

Just get one, you'll love it. The only thing I don't like about it is that the trigger return spring is a bit weak compared to a Glock but you get used to it.

I've had good luck on here in the past... I'm not in a huge hurry anyway... I may well just buy one.

I just bought one two weeks ago and have 500-rounds without issue. Buy one and follow the sticky over on Waltherforums posted by DMARS and you'll be fine.

I'm in NC so can't be much help in terms of sharing it, although you're welcome anytime.

I've had a 9mm PPS since late 2008 and have been very pleased with it.

Extremely accurate and a pleasure to shoot at the range.

It devours any ammo I feed it. To date, I've put maybe 2500 rds of assorted ammo through it with zero malfunctions.

Walther did their homework with this pistol, IMO -- it's a winner.

At $525.00 give or take, it's a helluva bargain IMO.

Good luck.

My LGS (West Coast Armory) actually had (has?) two-tone OD green and black PPSes for $489. I almost got a second one even though my first has given me a few problems--though they seemed to basically have cleared up at this point.
