At last, here it is! I figured I would just start a new thread. There is still a lot of work I need to do to it, but it's functional for now. Any advice on customizations, accessories etc will be much appreciated. I personally think its heavy as hell. What can I remove to make this damn thing a lot lighter? Any pics of other similar setups will help. Enjoy!!

I can take better pics on request.

Nice!

Since you asked for opinions though, I would definitely return to the standard stock for better ergos and huge weight savings.

...and possibly upgrade the surefire bezel to an LM1-BK for a shorter profile, 1 CR123A, LED toughness/output/economy.

Well said. I am seriously considering taking some of this tacti-cool shit off. I think I should remove the weapon light and the top rail and get some rifle sights installed. I really like the stock, but I think it might have to go unless anyone has any other options I could look at.

Well, a shorter mag tube makes the most difference (when loaded), which you've already done. So, after that the only other practical areas to reduce weight are that top rail which is quite big, the surefire forend, and you have a fairly heavy stock installed as well.

I like low profile ghost rings, but on that gun I think a basic bead is plenty. The Blackhawk/KNoxx recoil stock is my favorite by far. Lights are handy but bulky and heavy out there on the end, so I guess it is what side of the trade off you want more.

The problem with the MESA (high) stock adapters (or was it a solution? :D) is that once installed, it makes it near impossible to use the traditional sites on the shotgun. The main purpose of the stock adapter is to bring recoil in line with the stock more and to add an optic.

Perhaps some of the raised rifle sites might work though.

Running into some issues myself. (not an SBS though)

if you're looking to save weight lose the Mesa/UBR stock and the surefire forend. Those are your weight culprits.

I really like the aimpoint micro on that rail. It's just that to put another 400 bucks for an optic is a no go for me at the moment. I was going to remove the top rail and install rifle sights, but need to do more research on them.

I run XS ghostrings on mine. They work great.

And they look great too:D

I do like those sights a lot. I think I would be going in that direction. Beautiful looking shotgun, and a classic too.
