Sling mounts

I generally like to run my "non precision" - for lack of better term - AR's with BFG Vickers slings attached hear the delta ring in front and at the castle nut area (using Noveske end plate) in the rear.
I am currently building a "precision" AR. Is my current sling/placement adequate, or are there other alternatives that are worth considering?

I'd consider putting a QD socket further forward at 6 o'clock, so you can use a hasty sling. Not saying you need to suit up Camp Perry style, but slings are meant to be shooting supports. Anything else is just a tactical carry strap ;)
